Mushroom growing on ceiling

Hi, i recently purchased a condo. Last week the tenant above me asked if i was having any plumbing issues which i was not. But a few days in I noticed water marks and what looked like mold on top of my ceiling in the shower. I thought i was paranoid because i didnt remember seeing it before so i took a picture and told myself i would keep an eye out on it well 2 days later it looked like something popped out of the ceiling. The onsite maintence guy came out to look at it. He pulled out a mushroom! Is this something that was caused within my unit or could it be from the upstairs plumbing? Any help is appreciated
