Trying to startout in Real Estate. CO-OP buyers perspective needed.

Hello All,

I am looking to buy an apartment in New York preferably Queens borough. I got pre-approved as well. My budget doesn't allow me to buy a house or a condominium so I might have to go with co-op. I wanted to know if it is wise to buy a co-op as a first-time home buyer. I want to know everything that follows up when you buy a co-op. My main goal is to buy and rent it out. But I have heard it is very difficult to do so. How long does the process take and what are the problems someone faces when they buy co-op? If I want to sell down the line will it be easy?

Anyone who have started out their journey in real estate from Co-op I would like to know your perspective.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Thank you Abel for answering in such detail.

I was pre-approved for a co-op. So, I will definitely take my time to think my next step.
