I almost purchased a house with Morris Invest... and all they would show me was 1 photo of the front of the house, no inside photos or anything else. They told me the initial purchase price, plus the repair costs (I forget the exact numbers at this point, it totaled around $40,000) Then I asked to see the photos of the current inside condition (to justify the several thousands in repair costs), and they simply said “no”! They said they have many investors interested, and I can take it or leave it, with only the 1 outside photo and basically their word that that it needed thousands of dollars in repairs. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t buy, it felt like a scam... I’m so glad I passed!

This will make the good companies get stronger.  Morris is a stain on the entire real estate industry. If anyone thinks his educational videos are anything but coping others your being fooled. He has no original thought or content. Just rehashed common knowledge. And as it relates to what he thinks is a good investment is purely a fantasy. And he only recommends companies that pay him. His Model is hardly for the greater good.  

I am in the beginnings stages of buying a house with them, but haven't signed anything or given them money. Just happened to Google them today and found all this. My question is (and I haven't by any means looked at everything on this website), does anyone have a recommendation for turnkey real estate investing? I really don't think I have the knowledge to do it myself.

 keep in mind they are just brokers they are not turn key providers..  there are tons of turn key companies out there.

 Why Morris family go this route rather than just talking with HGTV for open their own flipping show? There were both anchors and they should be very good for making $$$ from TV show than duping investors.

Yes in hindsight that would have been a much better career choice for them. Chip and Joanna Gaines are worth about $20M now I believe. Not sure about the Morris family but all these lawsuits are most likely eating up most of the profits they made selling junk houses, and now their credibility is shot so unlikely any producer would consider them for their own show at this point. Maybe they will start a flipping show for Portuguese television.

Yup those folks really messed up they had the potential to be a big deal just in the resale of turnkey game if they choose to get out of gutter houses and sell nice stuff.. instead of Paper tigers while even if the houses got fixed right from day one they would never have performed.
