🏄🏽‍♂️ There is approximately 1 home for sale per 1 square mile of Oregon Coastline

With housing inventory rising in many parts of the country I'm keeping an extremely close eye on Oregon Coast listing inventory.

The past 4-5 years there are usually 1000+/- SFR listed for sale along the entire 362 mile Oregon Coastline from Brookings to Astoria.

As of publishing there are roughly 1150 single family listings with a healthy 300 or so pending as we enter into peak shopping season.

For fun, I was curious what the housing for sale density is and if we assume a three mile wide strip of approximately 1000 sq miles...there are just over one singly family home for sale per square mile on the Oregon Coast.

Interestingly, almost exactly 10% of SFR listings or 115 properties are eligible for vacation rental usages..or one STR listed for sale for every +/- 10 square miles of Oregon Coastline.

How does this compare in size and density to your local market? In South Florida (where I'm originally from) just in Ft Lauderdale there are more total home listings than on the entire Oregon Coast!
