First find who the owner is.  Online records will help there. Try

Then  once you know who the owner is there are lots of pay sites on the  internet to track them down. The term for finding someone is a "Skip  Trace". We pay as little as $0.25 a search with a $150 month min.  sometimes we pay a private detective $150-400 to find someone.

Hey Dee, a lot of the times the owner is recorded on a county assessors site, almost all counties have their database online somewhere. Finding vacant owners is definitely trickier but skip tracing is your best bet, I'm not sure what the best site for that is though. I'm guessing Doug and Ned have some suggestions. I also know sites have been mentioned here in the forums before.
