I am wondering if anyone here has had experience with electric/ductless fireplaces like so

I'm currently rehabbing a home with a mid-century vibe. Unfortunately the original fireplace would not work with our floorplan and had to be demoed. We are planning to install an electric (flameless) fireplace and frame it out, then tile with Mid Century Modern style tile.
I'm curious if anyone has experience with this type of ductless fireplace. Do buyers respond to them well (thinking savvy Los Angeles buyers specifically) or would it be better to spend considerably more money for a direct vent gas fireplace (has a real flame but does not require a chimney).
Would love to hear any thoughts or experiences!

That ain’t much heat. Be aware of electric costs as well, example, a construction heater in a garage can cost $500 in Canadian winters. Your mileage (& winters) may vary. That unit is 1.4kW. Multiply that by number of hours used in a day then your local price per kWh and you’ll get operating cost.

Rebecca,
I have installed these fireplaces in all but 1 home I have built in the last 3 or 4 years. They are great, inexpensive, and offer a heating element, multiple flame colors and speeds with the click of a button on the remote and they look sexy in the living room or even master bedroom. Absolutely appropriate for a mid century modern in CA.
