Hiring my first employee...

I'm on-boarding my first hire this week, and I'll be starting her off on the phones as a cold-caller. If she does well, I hope to move her over to acquisitions. My question is this: Do any of you use employment agreements? I know you don't have to when you're using a call center, or a VA, but this person will be a 1099'd contractor.

Second question is, assuming she performs as I expect she will and I move her up to acquisitions, how are you all compensating your acquisitions people?  I'm going to have her work off straight commission (which she wants) but what are the percentages you all use?  Just trying to get a sense for what the market rates are.  Thanks!

It's just human nature lots of times if someone made 50k salary and had a chance for a 15k bonus if it was hard to make the 15k many would say forget it I have enough to live on the 50k.

It's hard to find the potential diamond employees or workers among the duds.

     I do the exact opposite.

I have hired 1 VA and I pay her 3 times her rate. Then I instructed her to hire 7 more, and these work for her. I only manage 1 VA, and she manages the rest.

As for the 2nd tier VA's I pay them double their asking rate.

Everytime I flip a house everyone gets a bonus.

I want my VA's to not think of themselves as VA's. I want them to be proud to belong to my flag. They are part of the most Badass company there is. And their pay shows my respect and importance I consider them as.

I go out of my way to make them realize I value them.

In turn these lil buggers work HARD. CRAZY hard. they go over and beyond for me. I am their sworn overlord and they go into battle for me! And I reward them for it even more!

Good model, if you asked me.
