The deceased was given the house when his parents died, so the deceased inherited the house. Now, that he has passed away. The house has been sitting there boarded up. Nice looking house. I wrote a letter to the decease's wife, which she is now remarried. No respond from her. The court said; that no one claims the house only the deceased. The wife's name is not on the list to own this house. So, can I go claim the house? My plan is to wholesale it? Since I have not heard from the decease's wife?
What are the necessary steps that need to be taken in order for me to claim the house since no one is claiming it, so far..???

These are the deals (and accompanying investors who give up) that I live for. I would send another letter and then show up at her door. You'd be surprised how willing she is to sell the house, give it away or threaten to call the cops (hasn't happened to me in 12 years of doing it). But at least you know and the response rate is 100%. So you can give up and move on after a while Lorelei but you'll just be making it easier for the next investor whose in it for the long haul. Of the responders in this thread I would add maybe Ned Carey (he comes off as the 'door knocking' type), myself and maybe K. Marie Poe (if she would have responded) to that list of investors who would ride this 'til the wheels fell off' as they say.
