My sister rents a basement apartment in a house

she only has liability ins on her old car

she has no renter insurance

the home owner lives in the home upstairs

her car had an electrical fire and burned to a crisp in the driveway

damaging the outside of the the landloards garage

who pays? shouldnt his homeowner cover it?

In all honesty, it was her car and it damaged his property. Why should he have to pay for it? He can sue her for damages to return him to where he was before the fire.
