Insurance on a flip home

Carter Lance

I purchased a property this week that we plan to flip. The insurance companies that I have called to insure the home will not write the policy because of the condition of the home. I am looking for recommendations on an insurance company that is willing to write a policy on a home that has not yet been restored. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Carter

carter,

Normally on a Flip we write a Renovation Builder Risk policy for the existing house and the work being done.  I've found that, since it is not occupied and being worked on, they are less interested in the condition then they would be if it was just an occupied rental.  Is there a serious safety issue?  If you have not tried independent agents who write commercial polices especially ones who deal with contractors and construction there may be some possibilities there.
