Umbrella ☂ Policies 🥺 (????)

I have a Corporation with rentals and a Liability Insurance for it.

Then I have an i surance for my car and another for my home and an Umbrella ☂ policy that covers those. The purpose with this one is that if I got sued because of a car accident for example, they would not go after my properties and the umbrella would eork for that.

I thought this policy would kick in if I was sued for one of my rentals and protect me from losing my personal assets but my agent said No.

So the question is: you need an umbrella for your personal ( if you get sued for sth not concerning the business it stips them to grab your rentals ) and another umbrella for your commercial ? ( if you are sued for your rentals it 🛑 stops them to go for your personal stuff ?

Help ! How does this work ?!! 🧐

@Ben Guttman

Sorry the last question did not come out:

Is it common that a landlord gets sued and loses all his investments? There are pleople out there selling courses on how to do landtrusts etc to hide your assets saying that you are always exposed to lise everything, all your houses etc no matter the insurance you have.

Is that something real that can happen ? What can be the case ? If it was THAT risky there would be almost no landlords as the stock market would be safer correct ?

Thank you !
