I had someone reach out to me from out of area, so I don't have any recommendations for North Texas, sorry.

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a CPA in the north Dallas (Richardson/Plano) area. Specially one that works with buy and hold investors or invests themselves.

Thanks!

Hey Krystle,

I think only freshman are required to live on campus, however, most international students that I knew preferred on-campus or nearby apartments. In particular, many of them needed to be near Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus stops or stations since they did not have cars.

I think everyone posting so far has said really good advice, so the only other thing I can think to contribute is that for student housing, Denton would likely be better. I currently live in Richardson and I went to school at UTD. Both UNT and UTD have student housing, however, UTD has a high percentage of international students that would be staying on campus, which would limit your possible tenants.

@Michael Boyer thanks, I'll definitely check them out!

@James Palin are you going this Saturday? I might be interested in checking it out.

@Ndy Onyido it cash flows okay, I mostly wanted to get started doing something and learn from experience! Thanks for the welcome, I will definitely be staying active on here!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! :)

@James Palin, I won't be able to attend this week because I will be out of town for Thanksgiving, but hopefully I can check it out soon! Thanks for the links.

My name is Aaron.

I am just getting started in real estate, I own one turnkey purchased house in Tennessee.

I'm originally from a small town, Poolville, TX. I came to Richardson (northeast dallas) for college and just stayed in the area. I am now employed full-time as a software developer.

My long term goal is to generate enough passive income from real estate through buy-and-holds so I can 'retire' and focus on other things I want to do in my life. I came across BiggerPockets articles when searching Google for real estate information and independently came across the BP Podcast in the iTunes store. I quickly listened to as many as I could and I'm now almost completely caught up so I figured it was about time to create an account!

For my next venture I am looking to do a house hack. I am hoping to find a local multi-family, preferably a fourplex, that I can move into with a FHA loan.
