@Aaron Brown the little research that I have done so far suggest that duplexes are a good way to get started so that is what I have been looking at in Independence, Blue Springs and Raytown.

My name is Aaron Smith and I am currently working in business management. I enjoy what I do but would like to see more income flow and have been looking to become self-employed for the past few years. 

My goal is to link up with a local mentor that can help me navigate these waters. Perhaps I would be interested in becoming a realtor in the future, however at this time my interests lie with owning and managing property.

Whatever you have learned, do's & don'ts, anything will be appreciated. From the little research I have gathered it appears that duplex are a good way to get started so that is what I have been researching. Also if there is a similar thread please post it here so that I have look through it.
