Thanks for the welcome! I will definitely look hard at the UK area of the city. Seems it would be a very reliable location for a continuous flow of tenants.

Thank you for the advice! I have read all of the content you suggested above, and look forward to attending REIA meetings asap.
I will definitely be looking into the HUD homes angle.
By the way I am a fellow New Englander, spent at least 18 years in Connecticut before joining the Marines and now moving to Lexington KY. Go Pats!

Thank you @James Vermillion for your welcome, as well as your service! I just moved here to the Lexington area 2 weeks ago, so I am a newbie to the area as well as REI. I look forward to learning from you all.

Hello Members, my name is Andrew Greaves.
I am a former Marine, current student and soon to be multi-family home owner. I have immersed myself in the world of REI, and am excited yet overwhelmed. I have been devouring every book I can on the subject, and recently discovered the extensive free knowledge that places like BiggerPockets provides. I am so relieved I found this, and cannot wait to learn everything I can from real life people that are really putting this all into practice.
I am particularly interested in occupying a multifamily home and learning the ropes. From there I would love to expand to more units. I am currently in school for construction/property maintenance, so I'm sure that will help me. Tax liens, wholesaling, flipping, etc are all things i'd love to learn about at some point but I'm sure one niche is MORE than enough to attempt at one time.
Anyways I am hungry, humble, and eager to learn from all of you.
Great to meet you all!
