Hey guys, hope you all are well. I have a question, if anyone can present some insight or a different perspective I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm looking to buy my 1st house hack. My target area is Essex county Newark New Jersey (University Heights to be exact). I have my owm capital to put 10-15℅ DP on 100k.

My question is does anyone have any ideals for financing the other  portion?

I have great credit so I'm expecting not to be hit terribly by the interest rate even though they're creeping back up.

I've been considering going traditional since this will be my first property. So I've had Standard 30yr Fixed rate

Hey guys after about a year, I'm finally reaching my personal capital goal for DP on my first house hack. My target area is Essex county Newark, NJ (University Heights) to be exact.

My question is; do any of you have any recommendations on who I should look at as far as financials?

I have a great credit score so I'm expecting not to get hit too badly when it comes to the interest rates (in spite of IR creeping up.)

I've been considering going traditional 30 ry Fixed since this would be my 1st buy. I'm between a community Bank actually in Newark or BOA (I work FT at ML/BOA).

Hey guys,

I'm looking to renovate a house hack property. I've been considering going solar on the property.

I'm wondering if going solar will add any rental value to the additional unit. If anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm in New Jersey, Essex county to be exact.

Hello Everyone,

I've been looking for a 2 family home in the University Heights area of Newark NJ. I may have found the ideal unit, I'm going to view the house this weekend. The REA has informed me that the house will need some "TLC" from the new buyer. My question is; does anyone have a contact to a reliable home inspector? I want this house to be up to code because I plan on renting out the second unit.

Thank-you

Hey guys, sorry to bring up a old thread. I'm new to BP (having the hardest time uploading profile pick ) and REI. I've been doing my due diligence learning the industry so I have a base concept of REI I'm also in the process of becoming licensed I've completed the required credit hours just have to successfully pass the RE exam.

My medium term goal is to house hack my first property by the beginning of next year (Jan-Feb 2017). I'm looking for a duplex in Newark. I'm from Newark so I know where most of the war zones and developing areas are.

If any one can give me some advise on; pitfalls, technique, or ANYTHING  I would truly appreciate it. I'm ambitious but I know I still have a lot more to learn. I would love to connect with a REI vet in the area if possible.
