I should get my ITIN in a couple months... My LLC is registered but can I close now without an EIN?

(so many acronyms!)

I wondered if anyone has used a portfolio lender that does deals in Illinois - and how was your experience?

I'm currently looking to finance the purchase of 14 units in Kankakee, IL, so would be great to hear from others if they have gone through a similar process?

No, I'm the one paying the attorney - and wiring the money to the seller.

Just needed helping forming the LLC and remote closing.

Have managed to find someone though!

I'm a remote investor looking to make my first purchase in Illinois

A fellow Norwegian investor I know was fortunate enough to find a lawyer in Indiana that formed an LLC for him with a stake in the company themselves - meaning he was by proxy able to start investing in the US before his ITIN number arrived (bought 6 properties in that time).

After a couple months, when his tax number arrived, he bought back the stake in the company from his lawyer.

Something like this would be perfect for me if I could find someone in Illinois! I would very much like to close on a deal before New year if possible....

So my question is, has anyone else done it? How did you find your investor friendly lawyer or partner?

Hey everyone - looking at my first owner financing deal, probably going to sign a contract for deed and can't figure out if I need to share my tax number or not with the seller?

If they are going to pay the tax, insurance, and utilities... Will it only be needed when transferring everything after the payments are all made?

If anyone knows more about it than me, would love to hear your thoughts

Preparing for my first investment in the US market - exciting!

Trying to make sure I have everything lined up. Finance is sorted - but do I need a US tax number before closing? Or is that something I can fix after buying?
