@Chris Wilburn congrats on getting your project finished! I am a traveling physical therapist in Portland. I can share your Furnished Finder link with my network of traveling healthcare professionals.
I am also finishing up some renovations on my duplex in Woodstock. I’d love to exchange info about good contractors for future projects!

@Pragya Singh Did you end up installing a heat pump? I am considering doing this in my Portland residence.

@Joe S. I love that you are thinking about your long-term physical health!
I am a physical therapist and I work primarily with the geriatric population (over 65 years old mostly). My biggest piece of advice is the build a healthy body now that will carry you through the final decades of life. Don't wait. Time is of the essence. It is much easier to build muscle and cardiovascular fitness the younger you are. Biking is great! Don't neglect weight lifting. Head to your local gym and invest in a personal trainer to guide you around the weight room, if needed.
Health is wealth. Cheers!

I would love to attend a meetup like this, however, I will be working. Do you host meetups in the evenings, after general work hours?

Hi BP-
I am going through inspections on a duplex in Portland, OR to purchase as a house hack. I need to get a quote from a plumber regarding a leak in the crawl space. Does anyone have a reliable plumber in Portland, OR they could recommend to me?
Appreciate it!

@Chris Wilburn Yes, travel nurses get a housing stipend based on the location. Check out GSA.gov to find the maximal allowed stipend.

If you are willing to furnish the basement ADU, you could likely get more than $1800/month rent from medium-term renters (i.e. travel nurses) in the Portland area.

@Erin A. but, be aware, that not all traveling healthcare professionals are given the maximum per diem rate. It all depends on the bill rate from the hospital/clinic.
