Thank you David! :-)   I just saw that Facebook ad, and came here to check on it.

Hey Erik,

It was a no money down, lease to own, have renters, hold on to the property type of course.

I could tell the guru was making things look too rosy.  I didn't consider being a landlord the piece of cake he was making it out to be.

This was several years ago.  It was a creative real estate investing course.  I know the information I received wasn't perfect, but the point is that I COULDN'T comprehend real estate lingo beforehand.  My brain would shut down.  I had to figure out how to get real estate knowledge into my brain.

I buckled down and I MADE IT HAPPEN!  I created a "sacred space" as it were, with calming music, candlelight, hot tea, etc... and for 1hour/week I listened through 1CD. If I didn't understand it, I listened to it again the next day or week, over and over until I did understand it.  The first couple of them were gruesome!    There were 13 CDs in all.  I got through every stinkin' one of them.

Now, I'm watching hours upon hours of real estate course material and fully comprehending everything being explained.  There's always room to learn, and I plan to continue doing so.

I have more info about me and what I could offer on my bio.

I'm not planning to take the traditional route.  Becoming a licensed realtor (as I decided upon in the past based on the courses I was taking at that time) has not been a good fit for my overall investment strategy.

I'm applying for regular work in completely non-real-estate situations (but only to places which actually interest me) while I'm learning creative real estate investing.

Thank you Kim!  I just sent my resume to someone looking for a "leasing specialist".  I did some research on the owner/company and I would be happy to work for/with them.

I let them know that I am already taking creative real estate courses.

I and my husband are new to real estate.  I would like to start working for someone in the area to ensure regular money is coming in while I'm learning the ropes.  We actually live in Lenexa.
