Can a landlord say he didn’t receive rent for August and September in the middle of Jan

@Eddie T. Yea section 8 I gave him notice from the 7 to the 7 his response was always to refer to the lease I kept telling him I lost my lease if he could please yell me the correct way he would like me to sent it he wouldn’t tell me I am lost as a landlord shouldn’t he had communicated with me

@Eddie T. How does that work cause we are month to month and it doesn’t state anything about a specific date so housing will pay him until the 7 and I can amwilling to pay for the day notice but with housing on month to month I have always moved on this date o moved in the the 8

@Theresa Harris yea I’m month to month and I sent it I dropped one off in person and he wouldn’t accept it so then I asked him what way he wanted it and finally he states that certified so I sent it housing already will stop payments on the 7 of February im will to pay him the amount for those days if he wants to be difficult I asked him multiple times and he kept telling me to stop texting him when he’s my landlord I’m confuse and to what he wants me to do honestly I don’t yell or cuz I’m polite and I think that’s why he is taking advantage Cause I’m a single mom with 7!kids not educated in law and he’s a lawyer

Ok so I sent my noticed certified noticed on the 10 it had to be the same on I sent housing and si se my landlord kept refusing to tell me how he wanted sent and I had lost my lease finally he told me and I sent it’s dated 1-7-2020-2-7-2020 what’s the worst that can happen just trying to prepare my self can he take me to court or could I just pay him I mean from the 10th to the 7th it’s 29 days if he wants me to pay for the other day I can it’s so stressful cause I’m on housing

If he receives the lease in the 11th of the January but the notice says I am giving notice as of Jan 7 -feb 7 that puts it at 27 days

@Jerry Lucker yea I lost my lease and asked him to advise me what way he wanted me to send it to him he kept replying please adhere to the lease and to stop contacting him but he’s my landlord doesn’t he have some kind of obligation to inform me of what he wants done like Ok u don’t want it by hand say mail it certified now I found my lease now he says mail it certify but my notice says jan7-feb7 and today’s Jan 10 is that enough time

I’m currently on section 8 I mailed my 30 day notice but my landlord said he never received it so I asked if I could take it to the office since he’s a lawyer he said he was out of town so I went anyway well there he was leaving I tried to give it to him he refused to take it He said I could drop it off inside I left it inside I asked for receipt the female worker she said yes then he called and she said no So I told her it’s ok I’ll take picture of the business cards next to the letter and she said if I took any pictures or took my phone out she would call the police on me and started yelling And asked me to leave He said I have to follow what’s in the lease I said His name the lease says I have to give u30 day notice i am month to month I mailed u one and dropped one off one today today since he keeps refusing them today it’s dated Jan 7 -feb 7 and today is jan 9 now is 29 days now cause he’s delaying and says he won’t have time to review the lease till the following day to see if he can accept it

I told him I complied with California law I dropped it in person handwritten mailed him a 30 day notice my daycare witnessed as refused to take the letter from me housing already accepted my notice and is inspecting new unit on the 13 and starting payment I’m the following 8 what happens with this landlord I can mail a certified letter this time it’s my first time having this issue but housing already has everything set can he make a big thing if it was dated the 1-7-2020-2-7 -2020and he didn’t receive it till 1-9-2020 and technically he didn’t get it in his hand the girl left it on his desk so they can still say they never got it don’t know why he’s doing this
