@David Burton

Hello David,

Thanks for the comment! Would love to chat with you, and Cindy, about your experiences. I have also started a local MeetUp group here in Marin County to hopefully meet with other investors in the area and share info. If you think you can attend the next event, I’d love to see you there, here’s the info: http://www.meetup.com/The-Mobile-Home-Park-Investment-Team/

Also, here’s my email: [email protected]

Let’s definitely be in touch and collaborate!

Ana

@Sean Leone - I’m not an expert in MHP but I would recommend you to read a few books that have been very helpful to me, specially since I’m a new investor:

1. Trailer Cash by Jamie Smith

2. Deals on Wheels by Loonie

3. Adventures on Mobile Homes by Rachel Hernandez

Also, Dave & Frank at: http://www.mobilehomeuniversity.com

Hello everyone, I would like to continue the thread and ask those whom have already invested in MHP. Most books recommend NOT using an RE agent to make the MHP purchases. But, since this is my first time and, obviously, don't have much experience, do you think reading the books and attending the seminars would be enough to learn what am I supposed to know on the documents or, should I just hire a lawyer to support me throughout? I would really appreciate your comments on this, thanks again!

@Sean Kremer what a great story! Thanks for sharing it with me, and others! I’m glad to hear that even though you had no prior experience in RE and MHP (like me) everything worked out fine… In my case, I’m putting a business plan together with my husband and hopefully, this first semester, we will purchase out first park! Did you use a RE agent for first purchase or, did you figure things out on your own? I would love to hear more about that, specially since most of the books I read they say that I don’t need an agent. Anyway, thanks again and talk soon!

@Jeremy Roll I understand. Glad to hear that I have this option available. I was wondering, have you heard to Jamie and Ryan Smith, from TralerCash.com? They also offer seminars on the subject. Anyway, thanks again and take care!

@Bill W. that’s a great advice from what I’ve been reading, specially from someone just starting out (such as me). Also, thanks for pointing me out to the thread/link, very helpful!

@Matt Buckels from what I’ve been reading, I can either 1.buy the lots (only), 2.buy the lots and the houses, or 3.just the houses itself. It appears to me that buying the lots, at least to start, would be the easiest/less hassle way to start dealing with the issues that will come with owning a park. Thanks of the comment!

@Jeremy Roll it appears to me that the Frank and Dave courses are well accepted by the industry. I have begun reading a lots of books to get myself educated, including “Trailer Cash-How To Cash In On the Low-Income Housing Investment Boom”, “Deals on Wheels: How to Buy, Sell & finance Used Mobile Homes for Big Profits and Cash Flow Revised in 2013 (Lonnie's Ultimate Mobile Home Bootcamp)”, and “Mobile Home Wealth by Zalman Velvel”.

I would LOVE if you could give me more feedback about the F&D bootcamp course once you finish. Thanks!

@Mike Dricken it depends. Like I said previously, some might own and some don’t. I’m also trying to find out more about the whole aspect of owning vs. not. Thanks for the comment!

@Bill Gulley thanks for the comment!

@Belinda Lopez very helpful tips! Again, I’m still trying to learn on my own and find as much as information as I can before joining the bootcamp. Honestly, I’m having a VERY hard time finding MHP investment groups in my area, even at meetup.com. It simply doesn’t exist, which is very sad for a beginner like me :( Appreciate your comment!

@Shawn Cottle let’s be friends ;) Thank you so much for the comment and I couldn’t agree more with you. I need to find where those people are and make some contacts. Thanks!

@Kris Haskins thanks for the info on the book, well appreciated.

@Sean Kremer Really appreciate your advice. Would you mind sharing how you started out? Did you have a business plan in place? Did you buy the lots and houses, or just the lots? Please share, thanks again!

To everyone, it is always great to hear your comments and advice on the subject. For some reason, I’m having difficulty finding enough information and support groups to guide me through the process. If there is any other site, paper, group, networking event, please share! I will very much appreciate your information. Thanks again~

Hello @Andy Kaufman and everyone else in this thread. I'm from the Bay Area as well and would love to connect with other Mobile Home Park investors. I've recently joined BP to use it as a resource as well as to network with other investors throughout the process since this new venture is new to me. Is there any meet up in the area focused on Mobile Home Parks available that you can share? Thanks a bunch!

Hello there,

What would you recommend to anyone interested in investing in mobile home parks? Is there any specific training or education that would be valuable to increase my chances of a positive investment in the field? I am based in the SF Bay Area. Would love to hear your suggestions. Thank you!
