Post: Real estate agent compensation for mailings

I'd like to get a mailing out in a specific community to try to unearth buyers off market. Should I do this mailing myself or with the assistance of a real estate agent? I've already identified an agent who could and will work with me if that's the direction I take. Should the letter come from me personally or the agent? How is the agent compensated if the letter comes from me, but I still need someone to walk through the paperwork, etc.? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Thanks

@David Robertson

Do you happen to know what the contractor markup amount is? Is there an industry standard?

I’m new to this site and am already learning a lot. Is there an industry standard markup on materials by contractors? When do I know it’s worth my time to shop for, purchase and pick up materials myself vs having the contractor do it?
