Hey Kevin, I've been loving my LED fixtures! I've been using Utilitech Pro fixtures in 3500K. I use the 12.6 inch ones in hallways and closets. Item #0499437 with 1100 Lumens. I believe they are Lowes in house brand. I use the same lights in 21.65 inch, item #0442144 with 2400 lumens in my garage and back patio. The line is dimmable and great with a LED compatible dimmer switch. They are fairly cheap in my opinion, especially if you're replacing the fixture anyways, and considering longevity of LEDs. I hope this is helpful!

Disregard the comment I made of the new comers section. Much of that post was copy pasted 😬 Welcome!

Education, education, and education. I would very much recommend pursuing higher education after high school, maybe a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science! Also, in the spirit of education; continue to educate yourself on real estate. Read the books on the biggerpockets reading list. http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/04/14/best-real-estate-books/. I would also recommend the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad." Download the kindle app, and you can find most of these books on there for cheap, because they are the digital version. Then watch all 100 #askbp videos on the bigger pockets YouTube channel. There is a playlist to listen to them in order. Then start listening to the biggerpockets podcast. They are up to 142 episodes averaging an hour each. I'm not sure how many people have taken Brandon Turners "Beginners Guide to Real Estate Investing" course on UDemy yet, but more people should! It is very informative and only about 6 hours long. Download Udemy and search "Brandon Turner". There will be about 7 results. Educate yourself and you'll be better set to succeed in life and in real estate. Oh, and make sure to post an introduction in the new comers section 😬

Thank you for everything you do, @Brandon Turner. I'm watching the Udemy course as we speak! I'm putting together my plans in my head to hit the ground running when I get back from the desert. I'll be back in April, but our market is really peaking right now. I'm going to make house hacking work for me. My SFH is way too much house for me alone, and I'll get renters in as soon as I can grab a 2-4 unit with a VA loan.

Bigger pockets is changing my whole outlook on my ability to create wealth outside my W2.

Thank you Renea Steward ! Rob Brautigam , I did use a VA loan to purchase this house. My plan, since I've already exceeded my 12 month occupancy requirement, is to use my second entitlement when I get back from this deployment. I'll be gone in 3 weeks, and the plan is to get a small multi family with VA financing when I return. The issue is this town only really had SFHs and large apartments. If there are any duplexes, triplexes, or fourplexes being sold; they are being sold prior to MLS listing. My REA has been on the look out for 6 months for me!

Hello, My name is Andrew Johnson. I am 25, unmarried, am in the Air Force, and have been in Abilene Texas since May2014. Well I have been reading the forums and listening to the podcasts regularly since March of this year. So I guess about six months now, without an intro. I enjoy reading and listening to all of you, but haven't gotten involved. I recently finished all 100 #askbp on YouTube, and am actually listening to lesson 15 of the Udemy course series as we speak. My real estate background, if you can call it that, is I bought my first house when I was 24, last year. It was a life goal since I was a teenager, to buy my first house before turning 25 and I did it! Now that I've read about 21 year old flippers it seems less impressive lol. It's a SFH 3/2 as duplex and fourplexes are almost nonexistent here. It's all SFHs and commercial apartment communities. I look forward to talking to you all more, and finishing these Udemy lessons. Which are great, Brandon! [not sure how to tag] -Andrew
