Anybody know a way to get a cash advance for 50k? I'm looking to get some sort of loan or advance for a down payment because I don't want to liquidate my stocks. Curious if anyone has done this before or if you would advise against it.

@Eudith Vacio both I guess... I my realtor is helping us tour it and get a proper inspection to make sure the property is in good condition. At a glance I know the financials are good but I want to break it down to the details and run the exact numbers

@Andrew Steffens makes perfect sense. I forgot to mention I've had an Airbnb arbitrage in the same area for the past 6 months so that was kind of the test case. At this point I know how to set up and operate a functional Airbnb, but it's my first time actually buying property so there's definitely going to be a learning curve there.

Hey all. I'm in talks with my partner and real estate agent to get our first investment Airbnb property. Is there a common checklist or things to consider before purchasing? I'm looking to map everything out to a detailed extent to minimize risk.

@Eudith Vacio in talks with a realtor currently. Houses are going faster than I expected in the area I'm looking at. Is there a common checklist or things to consider most ppl or you use before buying investment property?

@Jonathan Klemm Hey! After I found what market I wanted to focus on, my partner and I cold called and messaged a bunch of landlords and we found a guy with a 50 property portfolio who was willing to work with us as he's planning on selling his units in the near future.

I am planning on house hacking around Chicago area as soon as I have enough saved up! I just want to make sure its not in a bad area.

Since, I'm doing Airbnb, I think id be focused more on cash flow. I've been working a data role for 7-8 months now.

@Paul De Luca that would be great! I'm specifically looking in the south bend area. If you know of anybody who's familiar with that area I'd appreciate the connect!

Hey everyone, just turned 23 and want to get into real estate investing asap. I'm based in Chicago and want to start buying in Indiana where I currently have a Airbnb arbitrage unit(I pay rent). Feel free to  reach out - I'm always looking to learn and meet ppl!

Hey everyone, I just turned 23 and want to start buying property asap. I'm from Chicago and I currently do Airbnb arbitrage on a 4bed house in indiana. The place does well so I want to expand and buy a place in the same area with my partner. I had a few considerations in mind...

realtor?: it's my first time buying property so I feel like a realtor might help, but I don't like the idea of paying up to 3% in commission fees (unless she can convince the seller to pay it).

Expensive or cheap: it's my first place and I don't know if I want to get a cheaper deal but 2 bedroom, but idk if it would pay as well. Or pay 100-200k more and get a bigger unit that I know would do well during fb season. I think I'd be able to expand faster if I get the cheaper unit...idk

location is also a deciding factor - part of the reason my current unit does well is bc it's within walking distance to the college stadium.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
