@Alan Zee

There you go... that's got to play a big role in the market.

@Alan Zee

I've heard it's foreign (mainly Chinese) investors? I'm no expert just rumers I've heard . I know anecdotally in CA Chinese investors are buying up properties, probably for more than what we want to pay.

No real advice here, except to say that you are not the only one! I created my BP profile over a year ago and we're a little closer to being ready to "really" get started but not where we'd like to be. Just do the best you can and that's all you can do! And I try to focus on how blessed we are to have such a beautiful, healthy child when frustration mounts!

Thank you for this discussion. Here's another related article pertaining to the Portland, OR area:

http://www.oregonlive.com/front-porch/index.ssf/20...

My family moved away from the Portland area because of the high rents and lack of availability, fwiw...several of my friends are doing the same. Perhaps all the people moving away because of high rents will help "increase" supply by reducing demand?

I'm also voting for detailed how to analyze deals posts!

Julie Hicks I know there comes a point to just get started, but I know I am still in the education phase of this RE journey. I am still barely learning all the jargon for instance. I just finished the BP beginners guide and am listening to the podcasts. But I'm getting there! Thank you for the advice!

Just listened to Podcast #100 and got inspired to stop lurking and post a hello...so hello! I am new to the real estate investing world and am looking for networking and education on Bigger Pockets. However, I will be in analysis paralysis mode for awhile, as job #1 right now is raising my 8 month old. Stay tuned...
