Post: Amend a Special Civils Part Money Judgement case

I just received a court date for a money judgement complaint for non payment of rent. i had filed in October when my tenant was behind by two months. By the court date she will be behind by over 6 months. Can I amend the case to add the new amount? What is the process for doing that considering the delay in getting the court date added $$$ to the balance?

@Sylvia Park glad to hear that your state has court trials being scheduled. How long did it take for you to get a court date since you filed the case?

In the same situation but in a worst place. My tenant Stop being since September and Now won’t pick up my call, reply to my messages, etc. I am just waiting for the moratorium in December to end. But looking forward to seeing what others have to say about it. I know I can file an eviction but we are 6 to 8 months behind on the court hearing. Does that mean they can continue not paying for the next eight months till we get a court date?

Have any of you had luck with your cases being heard in court in New Jersey [Hudson County]? I have a nonpaying tenant since September and I was giving her a chance to cough up but she’s been really difficult to deal with. She doesn’t receive the call doesn’t come to the door when we go in, I will start the election process but wondering how long it is till we get heard..

My tenant has stopped paying rent since September. At this point there is over $8000 dues. I have a Special Civils part open, any idea on how long it's taking for Court hearings? Also, once I have the judgement in my favor - any recommendations on Collections companies that work with individuals that have a judgement in their favor ? Also, what are the chances I get the money?
