Thank you @Jonathan Bombaci for that idea. I will look into that further.  Although, I was hoping to be able to stay in my primary residence if I could however I will do what is necessary to get going.

And thank you @Todd Wheatley for offering to share your story with me.  I seem to be attracted to owning a home in an area close to Massachusetts such as New Hampshire or Vermont that can be rented out.  I know I am still learning so not sure that is a way to start.  My home also sustained significant damage from a tree during a wind storm a few years ago. I didn't have all that bad of time redoing it.  I also have an interest in flipping.

My biggest challenge is getting rid of the debt and acquiring a savings that would help get me that property. I have been working on a plan over the past few days.

Hi! My current home is a single family.  I had it appraised back in May of 2019 and it appraised for $290,000.  At this time I owe about $178,000 on it.  I do have a $4,000 personal loan along with a whopping $56,000 of student loans.  I have made a plan to attack these using the Snowball Avalanche hybrid method I saw on a BiggerPockets Money video.  I am 39 years old and would most likely be starting out on my own. I may have a cousin that is willing to invest with me. I know I will meet people along the journey as well!

Hello! I am a newbie here with an interest in REI. I am starting my journey reading books and listening to podcasts. I read The Book on Rental Property Investing and am currently reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. I plan to explore these forums as well.

I do have some work to do in the personal finance department.  I have a personal loan and student loans to take care of.  I don’t have much of a significant savings at this time and will need to build that up.

I currently live in Massachusetts and prices around these parts are wild.  I am in the process of trying to figure out which investment strategy is best for me.  I am currently in a 15 year mortgage at 2.5%.  I am hoping the equity I am building can be put to good use someday.

I am hoping to meet new people with similar goals and interests.  Right now, I just can’t see how I can make that first step to acquiring my first investment property. I know this may change the more I learn. If anyone is willing to share advice or tell their startup stories I would love to hear them!
