@Matt Jones Thanks for the reply! I am an avid listener of the BP podcast and I agree, the episodes are extremely beneficial and answered many of my questions. I'll be sure to check out your videos and be in contact as it gets closer to my PCS date. 

@Jeff Allen Thank you so much for the advice! I have a few follow-on questions if you have a moment to answer them. I would prefer to target military families over vacationers for many reasons. Do you recommend trying to keep rent equal with BAH or slightly under the BAH rate? Would matching the rate make it more difficult to find renters? And when it comes to a property manager, should I start developing that relationship long before I PCS to my next station or just before I move? Thank you again for the information!

@Joshua Hyde Great to hear from you! You're correct, I'll be going to flight school while I'm there. I won't arrive for a while yet since I haven't finished the basic school, but I plan on using my first couple months to shop around. I'll definitely be sending you questions! I'm glad to see others going down the same path. 

@Greg Morris Thank you for the advice! I looked up where Spanish Fort is, and it's a bit farther than I want to buy. I plan on living in my first home while going through flight school, so I'm sticking close to the bases.

Hello! My name is Arianna Crawford. I am a native of West Virginia and currently serve as 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. I became interested in real estate investing after discussing investing options with a financial-savvy coworker. Since I am skeptical about handing my money over to strangers to put into stocks, he recommended real estate as a tangible way for me to invest in my future. I am about half-way through "The Book on Rental Property Investing" and have countless questions, especially as to how these topics relate to military professionals. My next duty station will be Pensacola, FL. I hope to invest in a buy and hold while there, so I have under a year to figure things out. I am already pre-approved for the VA Loan through Veterans United. Any information, advice, opinions, etc. are more than welcome. Thank you!
