I am looking at doing a house hack in Pensacola,Florida as I am relocating there for work. I have found a great property on a golf course that would leave me around $45,000 in the budget to upgrade. Any recommendations would be great!! Thanks!

@Cara Lonsdale Thanks for the welcome! I am interested in the house hack but however have a wife and two kiddos who would prefer I keep the investments properties separate from our personal property. The VA loan is a great tool!! Can't wait to learn more and thanks for the advice

Hello BiggerPockets! My name is Austin and I am a 29 y/o active duty officer in The Air Force. 

I have recently read a lot of books (Rich dad/Poor Dad, The millionaire next door, Total Money Makeover,etc.) discussing financial freedom, and feel that real estate investments are one of the best vehicles for this. I want to start to live a legacy so that I can leave a legacy for my family. 

I am currently living in Tucson, AZ but am going to be moving to Pensacola, FL in early March. 

I hope to build a strong network through BiggerPockets and learn as much as I can in the next couple of months. I really hope to stick with my timeline of goals and start my journey in REI.

Q1 2018- Build a network and begin to understand the elements of REI

Q2 2018- Begin to seek wholesale deal for a BRRR strategy

Q3 2018- Complete rehab on property and get it occupied

Q4 2018- Refinance property and start search for more

2019- First multi-family dwelling

2020- Have 5+ properties in portfolio

2021- Look for deal/partnership for large dwelling complex (15+ units
