Hi Justin!

It looks like you're off to a great start!  I'm in Mount Airy as well (I actually grew up here).  I just moved back home from DC about a month ago and have been researching real estate investing for about 4 months.  I'm looking to purchase my first buy and hold sometime in the next year.  Reach out and maybe we can even grab lunch or something one day.

Thanks again everyone!

And currently I am not investing in Virginia at all, but I would love to later in life since northern Virginia does seem like a pretty strong market.  Currently I'm looking into building a rental property team, but of course I want to get to know everybody.

Hello All!

I just moved from Fairfax, VA to Frederick, MD and I'm super excited to get started in this market! First, I want to thank everybody who has helped me in Fairfax and say that you shall not be forgotten. Secondly, I would like to start building my team in Frederick so if you'd like to work together please reach out to me. I'm new to REI (I have been researching for about 4 months) and I'm looking to make my first purchase soon. I'm also wondering if anybody knows a meetup or two that they would recommend in the area. I look forward to hearing from you all and have a happy New Year!

Ben

Hi Bigger Pockets! I am proud to finally get around to introducing myself! I moved to Fairfax, VA about a year ago and over the course of the last 2 months I've been reading a TON about real estate investing. It has always been a passion of mine, but until recently I haven't done the necessary research. I'm hoping to make my first investment in the next year, but until then I'm just educating myself and networking. I went to a meetup in DC recently and it was a lot of fun. Does anybody have any recommendations on a good real estate agent or broker in the area that also invests? I'm also curious if anybody can provide any insight into the types of investments that the market is currently favoring. I've been reading the low and no money down book because I believe I'm going to need to get creative with my financing. Ben

Hi Joseph! I live in Fairfax as well and am just starting out (I'm about a month into the research). I just finished reading the Low and No Money Down book which I would highly recommend. If you ever want to meetup/talk about some of the things we're learning about I would love to do that! I would also highly suggest getting involved in some local meet ups. I went to my first one last night and it seems to be an incredible networking tool. Good luck!
