Post: tax-free profits on real estate using a self-directed IRA

I recently opened two self directed Roth IRA's with Equity Trust Company, one for me and one for the wife. We didn't have anything to rollover, so we're only working with initial funding of $8,000 each for 2006 and 2007.
I'm currently reading up on tax liens and tax deeds in order to grow the accounts. I'm also thinking of buying a note at around 10-12%. Anyone else buying tax liens, tax deeds or notes with their IRA?

I recently opened a Roth IRA with Equity Trust Company. Since I'm only starting with $8000 for 06 & 07, what's the best way to grow this account? My wife also opened an account so I understand we can partner up. Where can I found out how to grow this account without attending the seminar and spending $1500. Thanks

Ty,
What about the tax situation with property in a self directed IRA. Is there any difference on how depreciation and deductions work for an individual in this situation?

Thanks for the heads up guys. I placed a stop payment on the check I sent on the 21st. I've tried to call Pinnacle the last two days and none of my calls have been returned.
Thanks Again!

Pinnacle investors. What is the tax situation with the 25% return? Is it income or capital gains. Does it make a differecne taxwise if you roll it to the next investment or take out and reinvest. Just curious.

Update: Sent off check today. New contract states that effective Oct 2006 6% will be held from return for the state of Georgia. This makes the return rate 19% in 60 days. I'll keep you posted.
