Well if you are Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger the answer is no. Berkshire doesn't directly invest in real estate because it is illiquid, mainly. But, Buffett personally invests in REITs.

Investment Info:

Single-family residence fix & flip investment.

I did a sweat equity deal with my father over a family home he purchased from my grandparents.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

I loved watching the real estate investing shows like Flip this House.

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

A family member owned the property.

How did you finance this deal?

My father purchased it and I did the work on it, mainly, with some contractors.

How did you add value to the deal?

I did the bulk of the work on the property myself and oversaw contractors, too.

What was the outcome?

We brought in $13,000 profits.

Lessons learned? Challenges?

Always get a contract. I wasn't paid for my hard work.

Hello, first the bad news, so you know what you are getting into. I am on SSI as of April 2024, but looking to get back to work. I therefore need a partner for financial and credit reasons (my credit score is 620 with Transunion). I also need help with transportation, as I just got my driver's permit in March 2024, but I cannot currently afford driver's lessons or a car, yet. I want to do group homes in the Milwaukee area first (starting with the Northside), then assisted living facilities in Brookfield, WI, and other better areas. I also eventually want to do mobile home parks and Section 8 rentals. I want to do real estate with a heart, while still profiting well, basically. Let me know if you are interested or if know of anyone that may be interested in taking me on as a real estate investing partner.
