I have been investing for a few years now and recently closed on my first larger property, a 12 unit apartment building. I am currently negotiating on my next, much larger, property. With the huge commissions the realtors are getting on these deals I was wondering if any other investors out there have gotten their realtors license in order to earn some extra income from comissions? Do you have to be in with a broker in order to receive commissions? How much does a brokerage take and how much do you actually pocket? Are realtors going to pass me up for the great deals because they will have to split their commissions? Any advice or experience with this would really help me out. Thanks.
