Investing in Real Estate using your IRA:
Becoming a Limited Partner in a Real Estate Syndication with funds from your Self Directed IRA is not difficult. However, you want to make sure you do it right from the start. Avoid compliance issues and maximize an incredible opportunity to invest in real estate using a source not many know is available to them: their IRA. From basic funding strategies and pitfalls to a checklist of what to look for in a qualified real estate fund, we will both give a tactical overview as well as cover things like the role of the custodian, UBTI and taxable leverage. As you can only invest your IRA in real estate passively (generally speaking), we will also cover what passive investing in a real estate syndication looks like and give an overview of the structure of a syndication model.
Christopher Orr from Pensco will focus on about the ins and outs of how to use a possibly underutilized source of savings to invest in real estate, both from the perspective of a passive investor, or a small fund to fund. James Kilpatrick from Lakeside will also speak about passive investing in real estate as a limited partner.
