@Mike Robinson my accountant is in Oley PA and owns quite a few properties. Not very convenient in terms of location for you I suppose, but how often do you actually have to physically go there.

Here name is Donna Rhoades

Tell her Brett Clutter referred you.

@Justin Windham I do meet those parameters. I am self employed and file as an S corp with myself being the only employee.

I'm sure there are countless laws one must abide by in these situations that require a certain legal expertise.

What would you recommend as a first step for someone in my position?

I've recently become aware off the self directed 401k. I have a 401k from a previous job which I can no longer contribute to. Having these funds, or a portion of them available to use for real estate investment appears attractive to me.

Being 100% vested, can I roll my 401k into a self directed 401k?

Does anyone have experience with setting these up?

@Joseph Adelman thanks for the mention of the meetup.com group

I'm jumping in there late. I started purchasing in the Pottsville area in 2020 and I agree with the Joe regarding the condition of the town. A bit of revitalization has taken place, only time will tell how far this goes.

I'm always looking to network with other area investors.
