One of my units has mortise/skeleton key locks/knobs on the bedrooms. We don't have the keys to these old locks, and my tenants say that the doors have locked before, which is a concern (for obvious reasons!).

I'd like to get these replaced, but I'm worried the only way to do that is to cut the door and put a new block in the door with a regular knob. Is there an easier way to do this?

The knobs are fine, but I don't want the mortise lock to be able to lock. Any way to disable it? Video here for reference: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1PbRX5yHwxf...

Whatever I don't invest back into real estate, I put into stocks. More specifically, I invest with Vanguard and put almost all into the Total Stock Market index fund (VTSMX). Jim Collins references this mutual fund in his 'Simple Path to Wealth' which is a great short read: http://jlcollinsnh.com/2011/06/08/how-i-failed-my-daughter-and-a-simple-path-to-wealth/

I use my personal Instagram account to connect with other real estate professionals and learn about real estate in general. That being said, I decided against creating a separate account just for my real estate interest. I did this because by keeping it all in one place (my work, hobbies, interests, etc.), people get a feel for who I really am and can connect with me on like interested. It's a great way to attract the right people and create real connections—I've met many of my "Instagram friends" and connections in real life—be it real estate or other.

For me, I post a lot about jewelry design which is one of my hobbies, but I also share on travel and the local area where I invest. As you can see, I don't force the real estate piece, and people gravitate to me/my account because they share other interests or live near the area where I tag my posts and talk about in my IG posts/stories.

Post: Removing awnings

I also have an awning over the front porch of the multi I just purchased. The seller's are paying to replace the awning since it had some damage from a wind storm, but in the future I'd like to take it down. It's my understanding that these are bolted into the siding, and I would have to find matching siding to repair/make it look decent.

Anyone run into this, or a workaround?
