Good morning,

My question for this discussion is based off of a method mentioned but not really discussed I over heard. 

Is it possible to contact, a successfully get deals, local banks about their non-performing loans or properties? Is so how do you go about doing so? I would appreciate any information from those who may have been successful with such a strategy before.

I'm seriously pondering leaving my job next year or the year after. I was wondering is 10k enough to get into real estate investing?

I could draw that lump sum upon resignation and maybe pick up a night job to keep some steady work that won't flood my days. How crazy is this scenario or should I say how successful would this senario be?

I'm starting this post to see if there is are any meet ups happening in this area and if so when and where are such events taking place?

If there is not any at the time, I want to see if investors in this area are open to getting together for a casual meeting and networking event.
