Quote from @Alex F.:
For our STR we have ring cameras and driveway/front yard cameras. One is an MTR where we rent long term for 6-7 months then becomes an STR for the summer - the ring camera stays and so far no one has asked anything about it.
LTR may be a bit different. If I were the renter I would want access to the ring camer
I dont mind the access, should I charge a fee? i dont plan on watching them just dont want to deal with removing and re installing if ever vacant. So it would be almost like they are renting it also.

My property is almost ready to rent. What should I do about My ring doorbell, alarm system and floodlights. Give them access, let them pay me, or remove them?

I'm not sure what your are referring to. Long as it's working internet it's fine. My post was about shared space vs private units tho.

@Candice Ravin Woodfin thanks for sharing this! Just out of curiosity, what are some other big selling points for travel nurses based on your experience?

**Spend money on a good mattress**
Private bath.
A full size bed isn't really that bad. If there is shared space put a recliner/love seat in bedroom. Dorm size refrigerator & microwave. Those simple things could make someone who doesn't typically like shared spaces give in bc you would never see them.
I've been a travel nurse for three years.

I would put more emphasis, details, and pics on the private spaces tenant would have & less on shared spaces. Travel nurse here. Most of us don't care for shared spaces so focus on areas they would be in mostly. And what they would have access to in kitchen.

Hi @Candice Ravin Woodfin, I manage our bootcamp program at BiggerPockets. If you know you're planning to operate short-term rentals, I would definitely recommend the STR bootcamp; if you're not completely sure yet which strategy aligns best with your goals, then the Rookie bootcamp is a great place to start. Let us know if you have any questions!

I'm torn between rookie and short term rental bootcamps. I'm planning to get get pre approved in next couple of weeks. No properties yet.
