Post: $800 to trim this oak tree. Does that sound right?

I had a tree completely removed 3 weeks ago after it was damaged by a wind storm.  I did get 3 estimates prior to having the work done.  The estimates, all for the exact same work were:

$8000 (I laughed)

$3400

$2200

Unfortunately the $2200 company could not do the work for one month.  The tree was leaning on power lines and had to be removed immediately.  I ended up using two separate companies for the removal and stump grinding for a total of $2900.  It just amazed me how much the estimates varied.

Feeling like I had to use ALL of the funds when doing a 10-31 Exchange.  It would have been better to pay the taxes on the remaining funds after making a purchase.  In trying to avoid paying any taxes, I purchased a second property just to use the money.  It ended up costing me more than just paying the capital gains taxes on the remaining funds.

Definitely go with a DW.  It’s not a matter of having to do the dishes or not.  Dishwashers can sterilize items because the water temp and drying heat is so much higher than the water temperature used to hand-wash.  A must have during cold/flu season.

Every house that we have looked at, my husband and I have gone together in the agent's vehicle.  If the client is following you, then you are missing out on valuable discussion time.

In accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, I would have him served with a No Trespassing letter now to prevent any future unfriendly visits.  He shouldn't be allowed to step foot on your property.

Adorable…if a house can be called adorable.  It doesn't even look like the same place.  You have quite the skill of creativity.

I assume that you haven't had any contact with the lessor.  If the occupant does produce a lease, how would you validate it?  If it is not a profitable lease, could you void it and force them to prove that it was in fact a valid lease?

Which utilities does it cover?  I have insurance for the plumbing on an older house.  It paid off last year with one broken pipe during the winter.  I have the full coverage inside the house and for the pipe running to the sewer.  The cost is $279 per year.

What about kitchen use?  You will have to allow that.  Are you ok with multiple people being in and out of your kitchen space and refrigerator all hours of the day/night?
