I would cover part of the costs since the venting is a "house" issue. I would then put in writing that as preventative maintenance the dryer ducts be cleaned every 6 months or whatever is suggested from a duct company based on how the vents are set up.

What are your real estate goals and do you feel a license help with those goals? If so, then continue to pursue. If not, just partner with a good real estate agent as a part of your REI team.

Send yellow letters to absentee owners. Drive around looking for vacant/unkempt. Pre-forclosures.
