I have to disagree with what some said here. Being a Tile Contractor in Tampa Florida and working on both slabs and wood sub floors the wood sub floor would be the most costly to repair. Obviously both installs will have to be totally ripped out and redone, but if on a wood sub floor and tiles cracking you would have a deflection problem.

You will need to add another layer of plywood to strengthen the floor before you install *cementboard or Ditra. *(cementboard adds no structural strength to a floor). On a concrete slab the tile would have either failed from tenting, lack of control joints, lack of thinset bond to slab or slab crack movement. A membrane would have to be installed prior to setting tile again.
p.s.: The snap together floating tile have limited colors & sizes, cost if not more then real tile and will also crack if your floor is not flat within a
