First of all, I'm so grateful to BP nation for all of the information and advice. As a new investor, I don't think I would have ever had a chance at success if it wasn't for BP. We are from the Sioux Falls area, but thinking of relocating to the South West. We have flipped two homes we lived in, one we sold FSBO and another we sold through an agent, so we feel that we have an idea what's in store. We have some seed money, but right now we're just waiting for the right opportunity. I currently have a factory job that pays well, but the job requires rotating shifts and is hard on the family and my body. Working for myself has alway been a dream, and I believe real estate is the best vehicle for achieving that dream. So hey BP community, it's nice to meet you! I can't wait to engage the forum.

Am I crazy for going into a market that I know very little about?  The real estate market there is enticing because there is a lot of inventory and properties are selling, but since I know very little, is it smart to depend on a realtor that is a distant relative, and doesn't work with investors very often?

Ok, here's the situation. I've flipped two owner occupied houses, and am getting my third ready to sell.  We live in South Dakota and want to relocate to Albuquerque, NM.  I'm seriously thinking of taking the profits from the sale, and some retirement money and starting a flipping business there.  We have family there, and one family is an agent  with 30+ years experience. Does anyone know anything about the market there?  I've reached out to some BP members there, but have not heard back.  So BP community, am I nuts?
