@Bill S. I know that holds weight to being true. I'm reading information on this site and looking to attend a meet up soon. Hopefully in the next few months I'll be working to acquire my first deal. I'm thinking of doing a buy and hold.

@Joseph Graeve, I am ready for the hard work. It'll all be worth it to become my own boss and take control of my financial situation. I look forward to learning more over the next couple months through reading and meet ups. Afterwards, I look forward to getting my feet wet to looking for my first deal. If it takes me a year as well, it'll be worth it to have accumulated knowledge and taking the necessary steps needed.

@Paul Timmins thank you for the information, I will be attending meet-ups as soon as possible. I will definitely look into the book choices you've provided. Right now, I'm reading the Bigger Pockets beginner read. I've read a couple and already learned a lot from this site. Thank you!

@Robert Herrera I do not how I missed your comment. I would have loved to attend that meet but for some odd reason this is my first time seeing the mention. If you know of any other meet ups, please let me know. I'll all about learning and networking to make the process as smooth as possible.

Hello, my name is Chelsea and I'm 25 years old. I currently work in the IT field but over the past month and a half I've bee more interested in real estate investing. I'm located in Denver Colorado and looking for advice and tips on the market to taking that first step outside of reading. I'm reading the The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing. A couple of days ago I started listening to the BiggerPockets podcast and began gaining insight there. Everything has been so informative. I'm going to read and study as much as possible in the next couple of months. Would it be better to break into the market:

1.) Real Estate License?

2.) Finding a Mentor?

3.) Just do it solo dolo?

I'm very serious about the subject and trying to educate myself along the way. I've found out if done "creatively" I don't have to use money out of my own pocket. At this point I don't have much to work with. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@Jack Butala, thank you for those encouraging words...I am going to take the beginner course as soon I'm done with classes next week. I'm sure I will learn a lot from BP.

My name is Chelsea and I am ready to break into the business world  of real estate. This field of work is very interesting and lucrative if done correctly...from what I've read and witnessed from other successful individuals in the business. Currently, I'm reading a book recommended by this site. Hopefully, after studying and researching for the next few months I'll have enough knowledge and know-how to purchase my first single family or multi-family home for rental. I look forward to being an active member of this site.
