Hey everyone. I live and have invested in Brooklyn until now but now I'm interested in looking further afield and Peekskill perked my interest. Wanted to see if anyone is investing there to get a lay of the land.... hit me up!

I'm also interested in ENY. I am currently invested in Bed Stuy and am looking to capture the larger returns I experienced there by buying and holding. Can anyone with experience in the specific area talk about the nuances between ENY, Brownsville and Cypress Hills as adjacent neighborhoods?

My feeling is also that when Starbucks arrives it's time to sell! Starbucks in my experience is always late to the party. I think these are pretty good signs of gentrification: - bodegas begin to renovate - supermarkets change slowly what they are stocking (e.g. They have a small specialty cheese section) - hipster coffee shop - first nice wine store - A CVS or Duane Reade - sometimes a mainstream bank like TD

Are you saying that the 203k is only for new home owners? Can one access it even if you have other properties or have had another 203k in the past?

I financed my first investment successfully in Brooklyn NY using an FHA 203k loan a few years back. I am now interested in doing it again, however I already own 2 multi fam properties. So, a couple of questions: - will I have difficulty getting a 203k now that I have other properties and am not a new home buyer? - will I have difficulty getting a 203k again (note: I refi'd out of the old loan a long time ago and have since sold that property) - does anyone know of very experienced 203k loan providers in my area? Thanks!!

@Llewelyn A.  Investor Llew, I would love to meet you, are you attending the BP meet up on Jan4? I am a fledgling investor in Brooklyn and am just finishing renovation on my second multi fam. It's definitely a tough market I agree, not too many immediate gains but holding (and renovating) can lead to substantial appreciation.
