Hi. I do flooring for property management companies and run into this a few times a year. We remove all flooring to the subfloor and spread baking soda on it. Than we come back the next day, vacuum, and install new flooring. It doesn't eliminate all but id say it helped a good decent amount.

@Salvatore Lentini

Hi. I'm a general contractor based in LA, looking to buy and remodel SFH or 4 unit apartment. Whats stopping me is the prices in Los Angeles are just a bit to high and Im thinking if I should look at a city like Bakersfield, ca which is a 2 hour drive and much affordable to try things there first.

@Shawn Regnier

Hi Shawn, I'll be setting up a flooring and cabinet store/showroom once covid dies down. I'm currently for now, doing material & installation services through pdf/photos and bringing samples to houses. Since, most of my customers are either contractors or realtor/investors.

You can use SPC floors people have been referring to them as LVP. SPC floors itself has some sound proofing to them and you can install them over acoustic/Portuguese 1/4" cork for even more sound proofing. I've installed them in hundreds of units and no complaints yet.

Most trade stores are cheaper than lowes and home depot, in So cal. I used to manage a trade store for flooring, cabinets, and countertop. After 1 volume purchase you would automatically get the lowest prices possible. from the 2nd volume purchase onward if the manager or salesperson remembers you. Typically, we will remember you if you purchase volume. And in the slight chance we don't, you can refresh our memory. Or if you have their direct number and text them with orders thats the best. We used to have people bring trailers from Colorado or Northern cali to purchase in socal cause the pricing here was enough to pay for that and some.
