@Christian Petrozza keep in mind the house is not renting below market rent, and the landlord had no idea that his maintenance team left before finishing the job until I alerted him. Now he is attempting to rent it as is, while I have also reached out in regards to an agreement where I wouls finish the paint for rent discount. BUT if he denies my offer, do I have any options? Or do I have to walk/ or fold?

I am attempting to rent a house and am currently in negotiations with the landlord. The house is newly on the market, and as I went inside, I realized the flip wasn't completed. Two rooms and one hallway still need drywall mud sanded, painted, then cleaned up due to all the dust. There is drywall mud dust around the entire house and these particulates really make it hard to breathe. My question is there anything legally stopping a landlord from renting out a house that is in such condition?

I am applying to rent a house that's been on the market for about two weeks. When i wked through, I realized the house is not a done, two rooms plus a hallway need drywall mud sanded, painted, then the ebtire house needs cleaned from all the drywall mud floating around. The landlord claims he doesn't need to fix anything before we sign a lease. My question is, because of the particulates in the air causing respiratory issues, is there anything legally stating he has to actually finish the flip before renting?
