I have been interested in the area also and have found https://www.montcopa.org/1058/Lafayette-Street-Extension-Project. The area that they are trying to improve is the southern most part of Norristown.

@Martin Mondejar there are many people on here now and new members who will join in the future that want to ask this very question so thanks for asking. I know @Brandon Turner would say “give up and go watch Dancing with the Stars”. Lol. But seriously he hosts some terrific podcasts here on BP. Maybe you should watch a few of them together. I’ve seen dozens and never once have I heard him or any guest suggest making a high risk potential money losing investment. Doing this the right way is a very conservative way of investing.

@Morgan Martinez TX is a bit far for me but you’re in luck because BP is is full of great people from all over. I’m sure you’ll find someone in your area.

@Chris Jensen I would say I spend 1 to 2 hours per day here...not its broken up into 10-15 minutes at a time. You asked how we have the time and the best answer I could offer is that we tend to make the time for the things we genuinely enjoy. I love it when I read a post and something from it triggers me to start researching more details and read other articles and posts around the same topic. Also, the people here are terrific!!!!!

@JJ Chojnowski. I wasn’t aware of the potential in Allentown. I will keep my options open to the Lehigh Valley. Are there certain areas of Allentown that are more desirable for buy and hold? I see some different area codes.

@Joe Tomko thanks for the info. Allentown could be an area that I would focus on in the future. I haven’t spent much time analyzing that part of PA. Is the Allentown and Bethlehem area a smart place to look right now?

@Joe Tomko thanks for the advice. I flirted with the idea of investing in NJ but have totally decided against it...for now. I have heard from others about the laws here in NJ not being favorable towards landlords. I have been looking in PA because the areas I’m looking at are less than or about an hour away. Also, I have a friend who has done well a little farther north in Scranton.

@Jeff Ledyard thanks for the advice. I’m keeping my options open right now as I am still learning. My intention coming in to REI was to buy multi and rent them out long term. Now that I have joined BP and have watched some webinars, I see that there are so many options available. Fix and flip is appealing and I have read that hard money is an attractive option when going that route. The more info the better. Thank you.
