Hey, guys!

So I was wondering if any of you follow Dave Ramsey and what you think about his advice on buying real estate? For those of you who don't know, Dave Ramsey suggests a zero debt, 100% down policy for practically everything. He advises not to buy a rental property until you can completely afford it in cash.

I was wondering, how feasible is this? Is it a good strategy? If you have done this before, what are the pros and cons and would you suggest doing things this way?

Thanks!

Hey Anthony Krajcsik ! Im in basically the same situation. Im a sophomore in college and I dont really have time for a full time job after the summer. Some of the best advice for me so far has been to read. BiggerPockets has a free book that Ive found really helpful called The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Real Estate Investing. You can view it online at https://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing or you can download it for free from Amazon on a kindle if you have one. Its helped me kind of figure out my niche that I want to be in as well as understanding more of the basics. Thats really all I have for you bud. Good luck man!

Thanks man. I'll definitely have to look into that. Also I was checking out your profile. We seem to have a lot of the same investment goals as far as what type of properties we want lol thats cool

Thanks for taking the time to respond @Mark Henderson

What you said about house hacking is spot on as to what I wanted to do. I just didnt know thats what its called haha.

And Id never really considered a loan on the down payment. Ill have to look into that.

As far as a co-signer goes, I've considered it but I'm not sure it could work out in my current situation.

Thanks again for your time and help! I really appreciate it!

Hey guys! So I'm looking for any advice you may have for someone in my situation. I've been thinking about investing in real estate since I was in high school. I'm currently a sophomore in college. And recently I've grown all the more interested in doing this. So I've been checking out the forums and posts here at BiggerPockets and I've been reading books to try and educate myself some. Im mostly interested in land and/or buy-and-hold single family homes. But I dont really know where to go from here. Im a full time student. I only have time for a full time job during the summer so I dont really have any income. And I only have about $1000 in savings. I feel like thats not gonna get me very far. Any advice/suggestions? Thanks!

Hey everyone! So I'm about to be a sophomore in college (Accounting major) and I've recently decided I want to get started in real estate investing. But I have no experience whatsoever, nor do my parents or anyone that I know personally. What advice would you offer about how to start out? So far I've just been trying to read a lot and I've learned a few things, but half the time, I dont even know what I'm reading because the terms are all foreign to me lol. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
