Post: Should the VP Cheney have spoken out sooner?

The news is just really pushing the Cheney story. I think as the VP, he had the responsibility to let the president know immediately what had happened, and he just waited until the next day. In addition, the people of this nation should have known about this much sooner. Cheney is a blink away from being our president, and he has a duty to keep people informed of what's going on around him.
I'm also fed up with all the secrecy going on around him. This is just tiring. I get that he doesn't want to run for president, but as the veep, he still should maintain open channels with the country.
I guess I'm just a bit annoyed by everything that's happening in the world, and I just want to vent. The world is becoming a really scary place, and as Americans, we should be able to count on our leaders being frank. There should be some consequence for when they are just not being that way.

I keep hearing about them, but don't know how they work. Can anyone explain?
I think you just ask. This site it all about helping investors out and helping them help themselves. There is a forum here where people can post deals and let HMLs know about them. If your deal is a good one, people are likely to contact you about it. Seems like a good deal to me. Do you have a plan drawn up?
I think people who are going to give you money want a detailed plan. Comps, repair costs, you name it. I'd probably put exact numbers. If I had any money I wouldn't give any money unless I saw a perfected plan.
I would stop saying "I think" - most people probably don't care. They want hardened facts, especially before giving out their money.

I'm no expert here, but sounds like you answered your own question. Just tell your attorney what you want to do and have them draw up the docs.
Post: Section 8 success story

Wow! That's incredible! Hard to believe how well things turned out for you. Were the section 8 people really that willing to negotiate?
I have a friend who has section8 property. He has had a bad tenant in one of his apts, who refuses to pay their share of the rent. He has had a tough time filling his other units, and has therefore been tenative to report the tenant to section 8. Can he do something similar? Its a tricky predicament. Kick out a trouble tenant and lose the guaranteed money from section 8, or report them and risk having an empty unit for a long time. I have no idea what to tell him, but would like to know in case I come upon the same problem in the future. Anyone know?

Post: Is the title clean on REO properties?

When you purchase a REO, do you have to worry about if the property has any liens? I'm somewhat confused here. Someone told me the title is clean on an REO, but I heard otherwise from an agent. Can someone clear this up.
Great
Seems like at least you have your act together. I was not thinking the way you are at 19. You seem to have yourself a savings plan, which you will turn into an investment plan. That's the way to go.
I'm really new at this also, but you're also dead on about the duplex. There is no better way to get some hands on experience than just jumping in. A duplex gives you the comfort of owning your own home, with the experience of being a landlord. You will learn a ton!
Keep on exploring. If i had time, Id do what you're doing. Work for builders, contractors, realtos, whatever. learning as much as you can early on is brilliant, so you can go off and do it on your own down the line.
Keep it up, and let us all know about your progress.

It would add a bit to the site. We could talk about stock picks and stuff, right? I would participate.
