I'm a new investor and I would like to connect with new and experienced REI that are familiar with the DC, MD, VA areas.

Since we’re in a pandemic, I would limit everything to being online. Weekly Zoom meetings, a daily groupchat, and possible monthly meetups.

Please reply if interested so that we can connect.

I saw a unit listed for around $115K and it took a $35K price cut in a little over a month. Should I ask the agent why?

I’m currently interested in buying a property and using as a rental property or listing it on Airbnb.

Thank you!

@Jonathan Oh Hi. Thanks for the response. I’m currently working in healthcare but I wouldn’t mind going into the real estate or paralegal dealing with RE lane but I’m not interested in being an agent. Any suggestions with minimum education, training, skills?

I'm 23F and I have 30 college credits left but I'm not interested or passionate about my degree anymore nor working for the next 40 years of my life so REI is the first thing that came to mind.

For a few years I've been reading about REI here and there but never really put it in action because I still have a lot of questions.

Currently I’m making ~25K/year and I’m $12K in student loan debt and may rack up a little more. Because of this, I’m afraid that I won’t get approved for a mortgage. My goal is to househack a duplex, invest in tax liens, and possibly dab a little in wholesaling until I have enough funds to start aggressively invest in RE.

As a newbie, how much should I start out with? Are there any REI Youtubers or REI people that inspire you that I could follow on social media? What are some books, courses, YouTube videos that got your feet off the ground?
