Looking for a tax advisor to help someone with a large capital gains this year based out of CT.  Anyone have someone to recommend?

Anyone have any recommendations for getting connected to a broker in CT? I'm mainly using my license for referrals, and for my own investments, be interested to connect to like minded individuals.  I was part of a large brokerage, but I didn't find it valuable.

@Brian Cam Thanks- I did consider that- the issue is that he did an interest only loan and the loan value is more than what the condo is worth - so not sure it makes sense to take over the loan the way it is...

I'm living in a condo, that I am renting that is being foreclosed on.  My landlord hasn't been paying the mortgage.  I don't see an auction date set yet - what are my options?  Would it make sense to contact the bank and see if they will settle with me?  I could buy the place it's probably worth $345, debt is $360k + $20k.   Is there a possibility that the bank would settle for less like $300k? Anyone have any recommendations on how to proceed?

Trying to get a better understanding of what happens in a foreclosure by sale in CT when the debt is more than the value of the property.   What happens to the remaining debt after the sale?   For example let's say the market value of the property is 300k but the outstanding debt is 400k.  We'll assume the mortgage company is the one foreclosing on the property and they are owed 350k.

What other liens do you need to look out for- or which ones get extinguished?  

I see a lot of these properties and think there's no way it makes sense to bid on one- but trying to understand what actually happens- because someone must take them over...?

I'm trying to find a list of homes that were already auctioned and sold.  Does anyone know where I can find that info?  I can find a list of homes that will be auctioned by the state (specifically CT in my case) but I want to be able to make some guesstimate to how much they may sell for based on prior other sales?  I'm sure there has to be a site out there.
